Mike Walkington commenced as the Managing Director of Jacobs Australia in November 2016 after a 35-year career in the Royal Australian Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Mike had a wide range of engineering, project management and senior leadership roles. In his final few years with the Air Force, Mike was responsible for: acquisition and sustainment of the Australian Defence Force's Airspace Battle Management, Air Traffic Control, Over the Horizon Radar, Test and Evaluation and Weapons Ranges, and GPS capabilities; developing and seeking Government approval for Defence capability proposals; and leading Defence's Capability Integration, and Joint Test & Evaluation effort.


Mike has a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, a Master's Degree in Military Electronics Systems Engineering, a Master's Degree in Business Administration; is a graduate of the Air Force Command and Staff Course and the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course. Mike is also a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, and was made a member of the Order of Australia in 2014.
